A fog advisory is in place for the Red Deer, Lacombe, Stettler and Three Hills areas.

Environment Canada said widespread fog has developed over a large portion of southern Alberta and near-zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, drivers should turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Fog will dissipate later this morning.
