Starting this week, food trucks will be coming to Red Deer’s Capstone neighbourhood every Friday.
Food Truck Fridays is set to return for its second year at Canada 150 Square, with a handful of trucks offering food options from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We’re excited to bring everybody back together in Capstone,” said Carmen Harrison, owner of Queen Bees Food Truck and an organizer of Food Truck Fridays.
“It think we had a really good start for our first year in Capstone. I think with more word of mouth and advertising, it’ll continue to get busier.
“It’s great to have additional seating, garbage cans around and the pathways for people to walk on. Also there are local coffee shops around. I think it’s a good space to bring larger groups and the community as a whole together. There’s also a water park there for the kids.”
The hope is to have Food Truck Fridays run through to the end of September. There will be five food trucks available starting Friday.
“We have a couple of rotating trucks that are coming in,” Harrison noted.
