EDMONTON — A former Edmonton Catholic junior high school teacher has been sentenced to six years and six months on sex charges involving young girls.

Piotr Zaloba, 29, plead guilty back in May to 10 charges including sexual contact with minors, luring and publishing child pornography.

Court was told that in January 2013 Zaloba started pursuing a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl while also admitting to having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

He had been teaching at St. Basil Catholic School and was suspended and then fired when the charges were laid.
