A former Rocky Mountain House police officer will be sentenced for sexual assault in October.

Ambrose Gregory Wolfe, 60, pleaded guilty in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench on Monday to sexually assaulting the woman, whose identity is protected under a court-imposed publication ban. He sexually assaulted the woman while posted to Rocky Mountain House RCMP.

Wolfe and his victim were well known to each other.

Represented by Edmonton defence counsel Michael Sparks, Wolfe was set for trial in the afternoon but entered a plea of guilty before Justice Kirk Sisson.

Wolfe returns for sentencing on Monday, Oct. 6.
