Four people charged in drug trafficking investigation

Cocaine and firearms were seized from a Rocky Mountain House residence.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP said they located a number of firearms, including a loaded 9-mm handgun and AK-47 rifle, while searching a residence Thursday during a drug trafficking investigation.

A large amount of Canadian currency was also seized.

Mario Pierre-Cadotte, 33, Lucas Barth, 20, Diane Duncan, 34, and Dana Lynn Morin, 27, all of Rocky Mountain House, were each charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, and unsafe storage of a firearm.

Pierre-Cadotte and Morin were also charged with four counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

Pierre-Cadotte, Morin and Barth were remanded into custody and are set to appear in court Wednesday.

Duncan was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Rocky Mountain House provincial court on March 25.
