Four Red Deer suspects facing charges after nine-month RCMP investigation

RCMP seize suspected cocaine and methamphetamine worth about $77,000

Red Deer RCMP arrested four people and seized a significant amount of drugs and cash after a nine-month investigation.

General Investigation Section officers executed search warrants in Red Deer’s Glendale, Rosedale, Oriole Park neighbourhoods and at a local restaurant when the drug operation wrapped up on June 26.

Police seized about $77,000 worth of drugs, including 538 grams of suspected cocaine and 396 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.

A 58-year-oldman is facing seven charges of drug trafficking. A 55-year-old man was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, a 51-year-old man is facing two drug trafficking charges and a 50-year-old is facing charges of drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

All four suspects are from Red Deer and were released from custody with a promise to appear in Red Deer’s Court of Justice.
