Fairview Elementary School and local singer Randi Boulton are hosting a free community concert on Sept. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Families are invited to come out to the concert to be held on school grounds, at 5901 55th St.

“Collaborating with our friends at the Riverside Meadow Community Association, we are thrilled to bring you this free opportunity to be entertained, build relationships and showcase our community as a place of belonging,” said Teresa Tataryn, Fairview Elementary School principal.

“With International Welcome In Week falling at the same time, we are encouraging our community to get to know one another and build relationships. It is the coming together of the community that fosters school success!”

The concert is open to all ages and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

According to Randi’s bio, the singer/songwriter’s voice “seriously parallels those of her musical motivators: Melissa Etheridge, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Jewel, as well as fellow Canadians Jann Arden, Serena Ryder, and Sarah McLachlan, and often finds herself compared to Adele.”
