Free energy efficiency workshop to be held in Red Deer

A free energy efficiency workshop for Red Deerians is happening in February

Red Deerians can learn how to become more energy efficient at a Feb. 12 workshop provided by the City of Red Deer. The 90-minute session has no admission charge and includes a package of supplies that participants can use to improve the efficiency of their homes.

“Improving energy efficiency can help to reduce energy use and improve home comfort, in addition to lowering overall emissions and improving air quality in our city,” said Phil Boehme, community development coordinator.

“This workshop will teach residents how making small changes can make a difference at home and will contribute to a reduction in emissions across the city.”

The city’s Environmental Master Plan includes goals of improving energy efficiency and improving air quality by reducing emissions. Energy efficiency workshops help to involve residents in these goals and invite them to support the initiatives of the city.

Energy Efficiency Workshop will be held 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 12. Registration is required by Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. To learn more about energy efficiency and to register in the workshop, visit
