Free preview of Central Alberta Theatre’s upcoming season on Sept. 30 at CATena

Central Alberta Theatre invites Red Deer-area residents for a free sneak-peek of its 2022-‘23 dinner theatre season.

The CATena Cabaret will be held Friday, Sept. 30 at the Red Deer Memorial Centre. There will be live music, draws and refreshments available — as well as some scenes enacted on stage to whet appetites for upcoming CAT productions.

This fall, the comedy Comfort Cottages, about inheriting a roadside brothel, will be presented from Oct. 21 to Nov. 5, followed by An Act of the Imagination, a twisty tale of a romance author embroiled in a mystery, from Nov 25 to Dec. 17.

In the New Year, The Lonely Diner, with a noir-ish plot about a movie fan with a chance for real-life adventure, will run from Feb. 3 to 18. Then, Stag and Doe, a comedy about a rural Canadian prenuptial tradition, will close the season, running from March 10 to 25.

Doors for CATena open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
