Freezing rain warning in effect for Central Alberta

A freezing rain warning is in effect for Central Alberta.

The City of Red Deer, parts of County of Stettler, Lacombe County near Clive, Alix, Ponoka, Red Deer County near Penhold, Innisfail, Bowden, Sylvan Lake are under the warning issued by Environment Canada.

The Environment Canada website states that a patchy area of rain has developed over Central Alberta and will continue to track southeastward through Tuesday evening. Rain falling onto cold, snow covered surfaces may result in slippery conditions.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
