After months of closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent construction, the G.H. Dawe Community Centre in Red Deer has reopened to the public.

The facility is offering a full complement of programming, including aquatic opportunities like public swim and swimming lessons, fitness programming including registered programs and drop-in classes, preschool programming, and childminding.

There is currently no access to arena ice and dry-space activities as the old surface has been demolished to make way for Red Deer’s newest twin arena facility.

“We are very excited to open our doors and welcome our community back in to the Dawe,” said Barb McKee, recreation superintendent.

“Months of closures have come to an end and we hope that people can take advantage of the many recreation opportunities once again.”
