Gasoline Alley shoppers and businesses will benefit from a new roundabout that will open today.
Located on Leva Avenue, the roundabout eliminates what became an annoying bottleneck for many motorists heading to the movies or other businesses along the west side of the strip.
The $6.4-million project came in ahead of schedule and under budget, despite some rain delays, says Red Deer County.
The county picked up $5.4 million of the cost and the province provided the rest.
As part of the area’s redevelopment, Lime Street at the north end of Gasoline Alley is now permanently closed.
