An online fundraiser is raising money for the young twin boys of a Bowden woman who was recently killed.

The online fundraiser said Kirsten (Gardner) O’Donoghue “tragically had her life taken from her Monday, March 22, at the young age of 25, leaving behind her two small children.”

The goal of the GoFundMe fundraiser is to raise money that can contribute to the cost of bringing up her boys, Jensen and Braxton.

“Any donations are gratefully appreciated,” the page states.

“This money will be put toward the boys future expenses.”

To find the fundraising page, search “Support for Braxton and Jensen” on GoFundMe. So far, more than $50,000 has been raised for the two young children.

On March 22, Olds RCMP officers responded to a Bowden apartment at about 6:30 p.m. to assist EMS. A 25-year-old woman from Bowden was found dead at the scene.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Section were called in to assist, along with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit, which has since taken over the investigation.

Police say an autopsy was completed and the death was deemed a homicide.

Ross Arran McInnes, 27, also from Bowden, was arrested at the scene on March 22 and has been charged with first-degree murder.

After a judicial hearing, McInnes was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court Monday.

The victim and accused were known to each other, said police.
