Grade 7 students at Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary School will begin temporary at-home learning this upcoming Monday.

These students will learn from home due to a high number of staff and students impacted by a positive COVID-19 case, Clearview Public Schools announced Sunday.

Grade 8-12 classes will continue in school.

The individual who tested positive was present in the school April 26-28 and may have been contagious.

“In collaboration with Alberta Health Services, we will be contacting only those parents/guardians of students and staff who have been in close contact with the individual who tested positive for COVID-19,” Clearview Public Schools said.

“Close contacts will be called and followed up with a formal letter. If you have not been contacted by 4 p.m., Sunday, May 2 … your child has not had close contact with this individual.”

In-person classes for Grade 7 students are expected to return May 17.
