A Red Deer man accused of sexual assault and exposing himself is in protective custody behind bars.
Daniel Leonard, 41, made a brief appearance in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday by video link from the Edmonton Remand Centre.
Leonard is facing three charges of sexual assault, three counts of committing an indecent act in public and four counts related to not obeying court orders.
On Oct. 18, police released a sketch and description of a person suspected of exposing himself after three incidents from Oct. 12 to 15. Several incidents were also reported to police in November.
Leonard was charged on Nov. 29.
Three of the accused’s charges sexual assault, committing an indecent act and breaching a court order, are in connection with Nov. 21 incidents.
Leonard is due back in court on Dec. 19.
