Union wanting to keep RCMP in Alberta holding public meeting in Red Deer

Meetings have been set up around central Alberta by a group wanting to keep the RCMP instead of having a proposed provincial police force.

Meetings have been set up around central Alberta by a group wanting to keep the RCMP instead of having a proposed provincial police force.

The Keep Alberta RCMP Community Engagement Tour by the National Police Federation has finalized dates and venues for stops in Central Alberta. Virtual sessions are also taking place on Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

In-person events are being held in:

- Red Deer on Monday, Jan. 31 at 9:30 a.m. at the Cambridge Red Deer Hotel & Conference Centre - Palermo & Savona Room

-Rocky Mountain House on Monday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch.

-Stettler on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m.at the Canalta Hotel

- Hanna on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Hanna Community Centre – Auditorium

- Drumheller on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 9:30 a.m.at the Canalta Jurassic Hotel

- Olds on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Olds College – Lands Sciences Centre

- Airdrie on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 288
