Red Deer RCMP remain on the scene in Eastview where they are investigating a fatal shooting.
Police said at 4:42 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a 911 call and found a deceased man on the road.
The area remains closed to vehicle traffic while the RCMP conduct an extensive scene examination.
Evidence gathered on scene leads RCMP to believe that this is an isolated incident, and there is no risk to public safety.
The Major Crimes Unit has been deployed to take carriage of the investigation.
Earlier this morning, police asked the public to avoid the area of 38 Avenue and 45 Street in Eastview this morning due to a targeted incident.
