HIGH RIVER — Residents from a southern Alberta community hit hard in last year’s flood have until the end of the month to submit expense claims for damage caused by the RCMP.

Homeowners in High River have until June 30 to get their invoices to the Mounties.

Claims can be mailed to or delivered in-person to the High River RCMP detachment.

The RCMP broke down doors or smashed through windows as they checked properties during the evacuation of the town last June.

At the time, residents questioned whether police had the right to break into their homes.

They also expressed anger about the RCMP’s seizure of guns from their houses.

Most of the guns were eventually returned to their owners.
