Highway 2 driving conditions ‘extremely poor,’ says RCMP

Alberta RCMP is advising the public of “extremely poor” road conditions along Highway 2 between Airdrie and Leduc.

In a press release issued at 2 p.m. on Saturday, police advised motorists to avoid traveling in the area.

“There are a number of motor vehicles in the ditch, as well as multiple collisions on Highway 2 near Olds and Ponoka,” said RCMP.

“Northbound Highway 2 near Menaik Road (near Ponoka) is now closed and traffic is being rerouted to Highway 2A.”

To check road conditions go to 511.alberta.ca to get up to date information on Alberta Highways, said RCMP.
