Highway 2 driving conditions ‘extremely poor,’ says RCMP

Alberta RCMP is advising the public of “extremely poor” road conditions along Highway 2 between Airdrie and Leduc.

Alberta RCMP is advising the public of “extremely poor” road conditions along Highway 2 between Airdrie and Leduc.

In a press release issued at 2 p.m. on Saturday, police advised motorists to avoid traveling in the area.

“There are a number of motor vehicles in the ditch, as well as multiple collisions on Highway 2 near Olds and Ponoka,” said RCMP.

“Northbound Highway 2 near Menaik Road (near Ponoka) is now closed and traffic is being rerouted to Highway 2A.”
