Highway 2 drivers should watch for lane closures next week as crews make cable barrier and guardrail repairs.

On Monday, the northbound fast lane between Taylor Drive/Highway 2A and the 67th Street overpass will be closed to make cable barrier repairs.

On Tuesday, the southbound fast lane will be closed from the Highway 11 overpass to the 32nd Street overpass.

Mainroad Alberta Contracting crews will then turn to the Milton overpass on Wednesday. The southbound fast lane will be closed to allow for that work.

On Thursday, guardrail repairs will be done at the 67th Street overpass.

The northbound ramp coming off Highway 11 eastbound will be closed. Traffic coming off Highway 11 will be detoured to the traffic circle on 67th Street.

Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Lanes will be marked and traffic personnel will be on site to direct motorists and ensure safety. Weather and ground conditions may impact the schedule and further updates will be provided if needed.

Mainroad Alberta Contracting oversees 4,600 kilometres of provincial highways surrounding the communities of Red Deer, Innisfail, Lacombe, Ponoka, Rimbey and Wetaskiwin.
