The second annual Hike For Hospice drew close to 200 runners and walkers, ranging in ages from one to 91. Participants had the choice of two distances. For walkers, it was three-km loop around the Great Chief Park/Bower Ponds area; for runners, it was nine km on the same circuit. Last year, the event raised $20,000 and organizers were optimistic that they would surpass that total this year. The largest team pledge of $3,145 came from the Pullyblanks family, and the largest individual pledge of $1,163 was raised by Maryse Guenette. Those taking part included friends Marion Hives, left, at 79, and Sadie Lampard, at 92.
