A hitch-hiker in the Stettler area, who allegedly attempted to steal a truck earlier the same evening, was arrested on outstanding warrants on Monday.
Stettler RCMP said at about 7 p.m. officers responded to a report of a possible wanted man hitch-hiking on Hwy 589.
Police said the man was suspected of attempting to steal a truck, and break and enter into another vehicle in the Stettler area.
A 24-year-old man was arrested without incident and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving while unauthorized, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and four counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
He was remanded into custody and will appear in Stettler provincial court on Friday.
