Run, walk or wheel in support of the Red Deer Hospice. Hike for Hospice Palliative Care, a nationwide fundraising initiative, takes place on May 2 at the Kiwanis picnic shelter in Great Chief Park in Red Deer. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with the hike starting at 10:30 a.m. Choose from a three-km, six-km or nine-km route along the Red Deer River and Bower Ponds. Volunteer Red Deer is offering a presentation on how to support volunteers who have a developmental disability. Sowing the Seeds of Inclusion will give tips on how people who have developmental disabilities can be included in their community through volunteering. Current volunteer opportunities and resources will also be discussed. The presentation takes place on April 26 from 1 to 11 a.m. at The Hub in Red Deer. Candice Campbell, operator of And Everything Nice Antiques & Collectibles in Lacombe, will give a presentation on antiques at the Lions Den Hall in Alix on Saturday, April 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Alix Wagon Wheel Museum is sponsoring the presentation and will have homemade snacks and refreshments on hand. Lions Den is located just east of Main Street, one block south of Railway Avenue.
