Horseshoes start on May 4, weather permitting, at the Golden Circle Senior Resource Centre. The games are held at the horseshoe pits north of the Golden Circle building each Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6 p.m. There is a $10-per-person yearly registration fee. Living with arthritis

A panel discussion at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday promises to empower attendees with lessons on how to learn to live with arthritis. The Arthritis Community Education Forum, presented by The Arthritis Society, will feature an orthopedic surgeon, rheumatologist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist, with a question and answer session to follow. Fundraising barbecue

M&M Meat Shops in Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Olds and Rocky Mountain House need volunteers to help grill, greet and set up for the 22nd annual M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day. The nationwide fundraiser will be held on May 8 with all proceeds benefiting the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. The goal is to raise $2 million at this year’s event.
