RDC student wins cash
A Red Deer College student got the surprise of a lifetime when RDC president Joel Ward dropped by his home in Edmonton to give him a $5,000 cheque to cover his first year’s tuition at college. Tyler Flaherty participated in the college’s spring recruitment game, known as Get a Better Resume. As part of the contest, anyone who played was entered into a $5,000 tuition voucher draw. The campaign highlighted the difference an education can make to a person’s resume. Flaherty plans to study in the bachelor of commerce program at RDC and play on the Kings basketball team. “I’m a lot more relieved and don’t feel I need to be stressed about money,” Flaherty said. “I asked around a lot and RDC is a class act. It seemed like a good home as I begin my degree.”
