This census is for the birds. Red Deer River Naturalists and the Kerry Wood Nature Centre are sponsoring the Christmas Bird Count on Sunday. The bird count will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a potluck to follow at 6 p.m. at the nature centre. People who want to count before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m. are also welcome. Birders can count any unusual or interesting bird three days before or three days after Dec. 18. There is no minimum time limit and birders can count from their cars, at their bird feeders or from any other mode of transportation. Tally sheets are available from the nature centre or online at the www.rdrn.fanweb.ca For more information or to RSVP for the potluck, call Judy Boyd at 403-342-4150.
