An open house will take place on Thursday, Dec. 10, to review future plans for the highways near Sylvan Lake. Alberta Transportation has hired Dillon Consulting to determine the future configuration of Hwy 20 south of Hwy 11A and the best location for an interchange at Hwy 20 and Hwy 11. Consultants are also looking at the best way to connect the north end of Secondary Hwy 781 to connect to the interchange. The open house will be the second of three. The last one will take place next spring and a final report will be ready by the fall. The public can see the options so far at Sylvan Lake’s Medican Multiplex at 4803 48th St. from 5 to 9 p.m.
Kinsmen Lottery
A Red Deer woman will have an opportunity to escape the deep freeze after winning a trip to Hawaii in the Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery. Ingrid Sudlow’s name was picked out of the draw barrel at the Dream Home at 36 Clearview Drive on Thursday morning. As Early Bird winner, Sudlow won a trip for two to Oahu, courtesy of Marlin Travel. Last week, Janet Rangen of Red Deer won 1,000 Air Miles last week courtesy of Century 21 Advantage. The grand prize is a fully developed 2,612-square-foot dream home worth $600,000. A total of 87 prizes valued at more than $700,000 are up for grabs this year. Tickets are available until Dec. 31. Tickets are $100 each or three for $250 and available at the dream home.
