Party leader to visit

The leader of the Alberta Party will visit Sylvan Lake on Feb. 23. A public meeting will be held so people can get to know Edwin Erickson and hear him speak, according to Walter Sandusky, a director with the Alberta Party. Sandusky hopes they’ll be able to attract new members to the party and possibly find someone to run in the riding in the next provincial election. The meeting takes place at the St. Mary’s and St. Timothy’s Anglican Church hall at 7 p.m.


Dinner and Dance

The Snow Ball is back. No need to duck. Big bands from Hunting Hills, Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive and Notre Dame high schools are setting up their fourth annual dinner and swing dance for Friday, Feb. 26, at Festival Hall, 4214 58th St. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. with the dance to follow. Semi-formal dress is encouraged. Tickets are for sale at $30 each, available from each of the participating Red Deer schools. For information, call Lyn Goertzen at 403-342-4911.
