Kiddies’ Day
Every day is Kiddies’ Day at Westerner Days. This year’s fair at Westerner Park in Red Deer offers five days of fun for youngsters, with the northwest corner of the grounds especially dedicated to children and their families. Daily events include tractor pulls, during which children riding pedal-powered tractors get a chance to test the power in their own legs. Promotions targeting children and their families include McDonald’s Kids Day on Thursday, with free admission for 12 and under until 6 p.m. and a reduction of one coupon on the cost of kids’ rides. Enmax Family Day runs on Sunday, with admission and parking for up to six people per vehicle at $20. New this year, children 10 and under get all the rides they can stomach for $10. Westerner Park is open from noon to midnight throughout the five days of the fair. Normal admission is $10 for adults, $8 for ages 13 to 17, $4 for ages six to 12, $5 for seniors and free for children five and under. Parking is $6 per vehicle.
