Eastern slopes map

The first copies have sold out and a second printing ordered for a new map identifying trails and features along the Eastern Slopes from Hwy 11 north to Grande Cache. Working with a grant of $100,000 from the provincial government, Alberta TrailNet has just published the Northern Rockies Trails map, the third project in a plan that will eventually cover the entire province. Previous maps cover the northern sections of the province and are being updated as necessary. Still to come are four more maps, including the Southern Rockies and the Grande Alberta Economic Region, which includes the Red Deer area. At least one of those maps will be ready by the spring of 2011, said Andrea Collins, a spokeswoman for Alberta TrailNet. Maps are available online at www.albertatrailnet.com or by calling 1-877-987-2457.
