In honour of National Poetry Month, the Red Deer College Poetry Society and Red Deer Arts Council are hosting a Poetry Prowl on Saturday, April 2, from 1 to 3 p.m.

In honour of National Poetry Month, the Red Deer College Poetry Society and Red Deer Arts Council are hosting a Poetry Prowl on Saturday, April 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. Beginning in the basement of the Scott Block theatre and ending at the Art From the Streets Studio, the Poetry Prowl will take patrons on a poetic tour of downtown Red Deer. Various poets will read at four downtown venues, for approximately 15 minutes. A reception with refreshments will follow. For more information, visit reddeerartscouncil.ca.


Grant time

Community projects seeking support from the Red Deer and District Community Foundation have just a few more days to apply for the spring round of grants. Registered charities serving Central Alberta communities have until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1, to submit their proposals to grants co-ordinator Kristine Bugayong. The foundation supports projects that foster collaboration and empower people and strengthen the quality of life in Red Deer and the surrounding region.
