Campground Set to open

It must be spring. Lions Campground in Red Deer opens May 4 for the camping season which runs until the end of September. Campers can register on a first-come first-serve basis. There is a two-week maximum for campers in July and August. The city-owned campground is not yet a part of the provincial registration system. The campground is located at 4759 Riverside Drive. Site fees for its more than 120 sites range from $21- $31 depending on size and amenities. For more information call 403-342-8183.


Ladies Indulgence

Ladies, get ready to be pampered. The 2nd annual Ladies Night of Indulgence returns to the Red Deer Lodge on Wednesday May 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The non-profit event will support Ronald McDonald House Central Alberta. There is no admission, however, cash donations are accepted at the door in support of the charity. A bevy of free mini indulgences including back massages, facials, hair styling, blood analysis, custom bra fitting, chair massages, and gait scans. Local businesses will deliver demonstrations, do a little pampering and be available to answer questions. Fire Extinguisher Workshop

Central Albertans can learn how to use a fire extinguisher during a workshop on Friday May 6. Training runs 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Red Deer College.
