Charity event in Olds
Classmates of Nicholas Baier, a young man who died after a vehicle hit him outside an Olds bar, have come together to do a fundraiser in his honour. The Aggies Club of Olds College is hosting a beef on a bun event as a fundraiser for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the Livestock Centre at Olds College. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Olds College Bookstore or through Aggies Club members.
India-Canada culture night
The Central Alberta Indo-Canadian Association is hosting India-Canada Cultural Night on Saturday evening at Festival Hall, located at 4212 58th St. in Red Deer. The association is a nonprofit, non-political charitable organization that has been in Red Deer since 1978. A special dinner is planned this year, along with a traditional Indian cultural program. The event starts at 5.30 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner, cultural programs and a dance. Tickets are $30. Test drive fundraiser
Ford Motor Co. of Canada and Rimbey Ford are partnering to host Ford’s Drive One 4 UR Community program. The event will benefit the Rimbey Lions Club, which is raising money for a new pool. Up to $6,000 can be raised as Ford will donate $20 to the club for every person who test drives a vehicle at the event. Ford’s Drive One 4 UR Community will be held on Saturday at the Co-op Shopping Mall between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. There will be live entertainment in addition to the test drives. Breakfast and lunch will also be sold, with proceeds going towards the pool fundraiser.
