Music students from Canadian University College will perform at Gaetz Memorial United Church on Sunday at 3 p.m. Pipe organ, brass and strings will be featured in the performance. A shortage of volunteers has forced the cancellation of a spooky fundraiser in Penhold. The Slaughterhouse that had been planned for the Penhold Fire Rescue Association will not be opened as planned this weekend. The cancelled event was to have happened today, Saturday and Monday. The Family Halloween Spooktacular dance will go ahead as planned at the Penhold Memorial Hall, 1123 Fleming Ave., from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
• A story about Schneiders Summer Traditions Celebration that appeared in Wednesday’s Red Deer Advocate contained some incorrect information. About 5,000 entries were submitted by Canadians sharing their summer traditions.
