A member of the Terry Fox family will be the guest speaker at the Terry Fox Volunteer Reception at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The public is invited to hear Fred Fox, Terry’s older brother, talk about growing up with Terry. Admission is free. The Terry Fox Foundation is dedicated to raising money for cancer research and sharing Terry’s story. People can RSVP by calling the foundation at 1-888-836-9786. The museum is located on Hwy 2, north of 32nd Street near Heritage Ranch.


Vaccines discussed

A clinical virologist with the Provincial Laboratory for Public Health in Calgary will give a public presentation on Vaccines: Myths & Realities at Bethany CollegeSide from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Dr. Kevin Fonseca will discuss the history and science of vaccines and issues relating to the use of vaccines in the context of the international H1N1 pandemic. Admission is free and anyone with questions about the use and benefits of vaccines is encouraged to attend the presentation at the Bethany care centre, located on the grounds of Red Deer College at 99 College Circle. Red Deer College’s science department and the RDC Foundation is hosting the event.
