Bagpipes, anyone?
The Innisfail Pipe Band is searching for experienced pipers and drummers for the new season, said band spokesman Michael McLetchie. The band will also teach new students. Anyone interested is urged to attend an open house on Monday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Innisfail Legion auditorium. The band will also play a short concert. Used book sale
Book lovers looking for a page turner or two can head to the annual used book sale at Gaetz Memorial United Church on Saturday, Sept. 19. The sale will be held in Pioneer Hall at the church, located at 4758 Ross St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables will be piled with everything from children’s books to autobiographies and more, all available at reasonable prices. Proceeds go to the church’s outreach ministry Gaetz Community Outreach Program.
Community Info. Fair
Penhold area residents are invited to check out what their community is offering for the year. A Community Information Fair will run on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Penhold Memorial Hall at 1123 Fleming Ave. Admission is free to the event, which includes a trade show. A children’s corner will be on hand, including face painting and balloons. Donations to the local food bank will be appreciated. Concession will be open. Penhold Neighbourhood Place is hosting.
