Most household waste materials that can neither dumped nor flushed can be brought in for the City of Red Deer’s annual toxic waste roundup, set for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10 and 11. Residents are invited to bring hazardous waste to the waste management facility between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday or between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Solvents, fuels, pesticides and batteries are among the household items that will be accepted. Paint will be accepted, but there will be no paint exchange as has been offered previously. Harvest Festival

Head out for a day of family fun and toe tapping music at the 20th annual Dickson Store Museum Harvest Festival on Sunday, Sept. 12, from noon to 4:30 p.m. There will be Danish and traditional food, entertainment and vendors.
