About 20 Eckville and Rimbey firefighters fought a blaze at a honey farm north of Eckville for six hours on Monday.
The fire started when flames moved from a burning barrel onto some grass and then set fire to urethane panels stored at the property near TWP Road 41-4 and Range Road 3-4.
Four pumpers and two tankers were used to tame the blaze and a loader pushed the burning debris into a pile to get it under control.
Firefighters were required to wear breathing apparatus so they didn’t breathe in the toxic fumes from the panels, which can be used for door insulation.
