Hunt on for driver after pedestrian killed in Calgary hit-and-run accident

A pedestrian is dead after what police are calling a late-night hit-and-run collision in Calgary.

CALGARY — A pedestrian is dead after what police are calling a late-night hit-and-run collision in Calgary.

Police say a woman died in hospital after she was struck in a crosswalk around 11:15 p.m. Monday in a north-central neighbourhood (43 Ave. and Centre St. North).

Investigators closed off the intersection for about seven hours as they gathered evidence.

Officers located the vehicle, but are still looking for the driver.

They’re hoping someone who was on a transit bus in the area at the time can provide evidence.

Officials say this is the fourth pedestrian fatality in Calgary so far this year.
