Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer now has five confirmed COVID-19 cases.

In an email sent to parents Thursday, principal Darwin Roscoe said public health officials are investigating an additional case at the school.

“All five of these cases are linked to each other outside of school,” Roscoe said in the email.

“We are requesting that parents have a conversation with their children about practising social distancing, and COVID-19 safe practices at all times. This includes avoiding carpooling and eating together in cars unless you are part of the same family cohort.”

Hunting Hills staff have contacted parents and guardians of students, as well as any staff or visitors who may have been in close contact with this new case.

“We will continue to provide additional information to families as it is available,” said Roscoe.
