Innisfail man killed in single-vehicle collision

RCMP said car hit a pole just northwest of Innisfail early on Wednesday

A 54-year-old Innisfail man is dead after a single-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning, just outside the town.

Innisfail RCMP said they were called to the scene of a collision at about 12:30 a.m. at Highway 54 and Township Road 360, northwest of the town.

Police said the car was travelling westbound on the township road when it hit a pole. The driver and lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased will not be released and no further updates are anticipated, said police.
