An Innisfail man is facing several charges as a result of a failed break-in Penhold Thursday.

Police received a report by a concerned citizen around 9:42 a.m. who had witnessed a suspicious person enter a garage in Penhold. Upon attending RCMP found that a door had been pried open and the rear door of the residence had been damaged.

Casey Ronald Laprise, 32, was arrested after breaking into a garage and residence. Laprise did not flee the scene when police arrived and he was arrested while hiding in the garage.

Property believed to have been in the possession of the suspect contained items linked to other break and enters reported in the Red Deer and Innisfail area, police say.

The central Alberta man has been charged with breaking and entering with intent, failing to comply with release order, possession of break-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a forged document and illegal possession of a government document.

Laprise is scheduled to attend Red Deer Provincial court on July 27.
