Drivers are being reminding that winter is right around the corner.

Albertans should start making appointments to have winter tires put on their vehicles, the Innisfail RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit said in a media release Monday.

“Already one week has past in November and the temperature is slowly dropping down,” said police.

“Soon will come the snow, and with it, the winter driving conditions. Winter tires make it safer for you and the occupants of your vehicle. And also for everyone else that uses our roads.”

Pedestrians are also being reminded to give vehicles more time to stop before crossing the road, and ensure motorists see you before you start crossing.

“We would also like to remind you that you can report driving infractions, impaired driver, or any dangerous behaviour happening on our roads, by contacting your nearest detachment, or by calling 911,” said RCMP.
