Two people charged: Innisfail RCMP make weekend drug and weapons bust

Police arrested two people over the weekend in Innisfail in relation to a firearms incident.

Sheldon James Keough, 35 of Innisfail and Karissa Marre Labar, 22 of Blackfalds are facing multiple counts of drug possession and firearm charges.

According to the police, a woman reported on June 5 that the two suspects had locked her out of her residence and had a gun. Police went to the scene but were unable to arrest the suspects.

On June 6, the suspects returned to the apartment. The RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Police Dog Services (PDS) entered the apartment and the two suspects were taken into custody. They were in possession of a sawed off 22 calibre rifle, bear spray, knifes, pellet pistol, oxycodone tablets, drug paraphernalia and stolen property.

Keough and Labar were scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Tuesday.
