49 watches stolen from Innisfail jewellery store

Innisfail RCMP are investigating a jewellery store break and enter.

Police say at 4:25 a.m. on Oct. 19, an unknown suspect broke a front window and stole watches from a display case.

They said 47 Citizen watches and two Harley Davidson watches were stolen.

RCMP are seeking information about anyone trying to pawn or sell watches and are also asking for the public’s help for more details about the break-in.

In a post on Facebook on Oct. 26, Geo T. Ingham and Sons Jewellers in Innisfail reported it suffered a major break-in on Oct. 19, in which the front door and a large display case were smashed and a number of watches were stolen.

It said almost all the watches that were not taken were damaged by the shattered glass and that the damages and loss exceeds $20,000.

They also indicated it was the third time in the past four years that the business has been broken into.
