Innisfail traffic unit urges drivers to adjust for the frigid conditions

Innisfail Integrated Traffic Unit is offering motorists some traffic safety tips during this frigid weather.

“With the freezing temperatures we are currently experiencing, it is important to adjust your driving and your speed,” stated Corp. Eric Ponton in an emailed release.

The extreme cold weather negatively affects air pressure in vehicle tires. Underinflated tires can affect vehicle responsiveness, and also raise the chances of getting flat tires, said Ponton.

“Please take the time to ensure that your vehicle is road worthy, and slow down whenever you are out and about, especially at intersections where pedestrians and other vehicles are crossing. Ensure you come to a full and complete stop before proceeding, and that it is safe to enter the intersection.”
