The third annual CommUnity: The Power of One event is happening March 24.
Held to commemorate the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21, the event features keynote speaker Renee Vaugeois, executive director of the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights.
Three interactive workshops will be held throughout the day: a Tipi Teachings session, Anti-Racism Response Training, and a session called In Our Shoes.
Co-hosted by Central Alberta Refugee Effort and Red Deer Native Friendship Society, the event runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Golden Circle Seniors Resource Centre, 4620 47th Ave.
