Sharon Shannon, one of the best-known Irish traditional musicians in the world, is coming to Red Deer.

The Irish Cultural Society of Central Alberta is excited to have Shannon at Bo’s Bar and Stage this Tuesday, March 10 — one week before St. Patrick’s Day.

Shannon holds the record for the biggest-selling traditional Irish artist of all time in Ireland.

She is world renowned for her collaborations of not just Irish music, but all genres — hip-hop, Cajun, country, classical and rap. She performed at the White House in 1991.

Shannon has toured with Bono, Adam Clayton, Sinead O’Connor, Jackson Browne, John Prine, Steve Earle and Willie Nelson.

At Bo’s, she will be supported by Red Deer’s Eddie Drake. There will also be performances by the Red Deer Irish Dance Academy.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available on eventbrite.ca.
