EDMONTON — Twelve people have lost their lives so far this year in pedestrian accidents on Edmonton's streets.

Police say the latest victim is a 50-year-old woman, who was struck by a vehicle on the city's north side last Saturday afternoon.

She died in hospital the following day, after being taken off life support.

Investigators believe she was jaywalking when she was hit.

They do not expect to lay charges against the driver.
