A show by Red Deer’s Jesse Roads will launch a series of hot rock-n-roots concerts next month at The Velvet Olive.

Local singer-songwriter Roads will perform some of his poetic lyrics at the venue on March 1 at 8:30 p.m, while Memphis Mafia will hit the stage with classic country/outlaw and rock ‘n’ roll set on March 2.

John Wort Hannam will play his own folk-roots music at The Velvet Olive on March 9.

Juno-nominated slide guitarist Sean Pinchin will play at the venue on March 16, while the Juno Award-winning duo Big Little Lions perform on March 21.

Mandolin music will resound on March 22 when John Reischman and The Jaybirds take the stage for a bluegrass session. Juke will be pulling off some favourite dance tunes there on March 23.

And country singer Shaela Miller, whose songs have been featured on such TV shows as HBO’s True Blood, will perform on March 29.

Some of these are ticketed events. Please call the venue for more information.
